India…and the ingredients
What makes a true “India”? a country that breaths on its rich culture, heritage and diversity in and out…If I ask this question to myself, the answer would be this…”Empowered Villages”, “Empowered Villages”, “Empowered Villages”.
There is a famous saying in Telugu (a regional major language in India)…”Graamale desaaniki pattugommalu”. That means…villages are everything for a country. This statement was made by a famous guy dated way back before independance was posessed.
This statement holds good and very much true even now. The dreams of india are built upon grameena vikas (welfare of villages) long back but never been executed successfully. A country is like a big baniyan tree. The baniyan tree makes it’s roots go across acres and live upon the resources it gets from miliions of small small child roots. These are nothing but villages for any country. A country like India where people & land are core competency requires the empowerment of villages as good as townships and metros.
Today I have visited this cool website called “SmartVillages.org”. The main initiative behind this website is to bring e-goveranance and manage the progress of a village using internet. This brings lot of transperancy and visibility to the village administration.
The first model village which was empowered by this project is “Hansdehar“, a village from Haryana. The website looks pretty cool and neat. My hearty congratulations and best wishes for the website owners and people of Hansdehar.

The observations are very pleasing to behold and hear.Thease are on the lips of every
patriotic indian citizen who wishes his country to be so since the country became independent
60 years ago.Are we really free from all ills?Any calamity in the country,whether draught or
flood,terrorism &what not,even today only casts its major fury on the unprotected rurals from where we receive our strength to sustain our lives through the sweats of the obressed farmers
whose strength is fast dwindling now despite the claim of so much of technological advances in every field.Our country with its pluralistic combination could have enviably stood tall,even beating the US and its likes,had atleast 60% of the citizens been truly patriotic & prudent to realise the country’s vast resources & potentials in every field and exploited to the great benefits.That was not to be.Sober personalities like Dr.APJ.Kalam,Dr R.Radhakrishnan & the likes can only visualise great India and advise the citizens what to do to realise that great India by establishing themselves as role models.Is that enough?The people who represent us in the governace of the country should also set so but the elected netas’ mind set is not so.Unless their pocketing in the name public serve(from rag to riches in no time),selfish & vote bank
mind set undergoes a radical change for better,the tranparancy is only casuallity and empowerment in whatever way one can name,Women,Village,Farmer etc etc is infinitely distant dream.Yes,the
website “smartvillages.org” cool and colourful with the pictures of our highly revered leaders..
Our villages are smart or otherwise is quite transparent even otherwise.With the present day politicians how far such a website is going to help a village &its people look smart and
colourful like the site is a quetion as of now.Our wiked politicians have their own way of creating a WEB for their gimmics on the gullible people.e- or non e- does not make any difference.
Very True! Infact our import/export business model also majorly depends on these villages and their products only
