How to play REAL media with out REAL Player

Real player is one of the famous bloatwares. Do you agree? I am not sure about it, but I hate real player for the following reasons.

I love thunderbird for the simplicity and support for Add-ons that natively comes with Mozilla base platform. I have configured Gmail in my Thunderbird client and I am already enjoying the desktop experience of Gmail. I will write my Thunderbird experiences and Tips in another post.
